Heading to graduate school and wondering what the entrance exam times are? You can clearly cause yourself undue stress if you attempt to get everything done all at once. By everything, we mean completing all of your graduate school application requirements. Your best plan of attack on how to avoid or cut down on such stress and anxiety is to become organized and create a schedule or timeline in which to accomplish all of the application requirements.

The entrance exam for your graduate program can be any of the following: MCAT, LSAT, GRE, or GMAT, depending upon the program subject, of course. Plan enough study time beforehand, but aim to take the pressure off yourself during the application process by successfully completing the entrance exam as early as possible.

One of the entrance tests you might be taking is the MCAT. MCAT stands for Medical College Admissions Test. Most medical schools require applicants to submit these MCAT score results to them as part of the application process. The admissions department of a medical school view these MCAT scores as part of the decision making process. The scores are composed of four basic areas which include: verbal reasoning, a writing sample, biological sciences and physical sciences. MCAT scores are valid for a three-year time period.

Now, when are the entrance exam times? The MCAT entrance exam can be taken two times in a year and occurs in April and August. The registration deadlines are the end of March and July, respectively. The MCAT is administered by the AAMC. The AAMC is a non profit administration agency for medical schools. AAMC stands for Association of American Medical Colleges. They began in 1876 to get involved in the accreditation of U.S. and Canadian medical schools and teaching hospitals.

There is more information about the MCAT you may like to know. For instance, the MCAT can only be taken up to three times. If you need or want to take the test more than three times, you will have to obtain special permission from the AAMC and MCAT.

Going by the entrance exam times for the MCAT, you also need to be in contact with your prospective school in order to be in the know about their specific time requirements. For instance, you may need to take the MCAT exam within a set timeframe. No school will require test scores less than two years old, however. That means you have some time to prepare for and take the exam. Because the application process can be such a painstaking task, you have the time to tackle all the aspects of the application piece by piece, carefully planning everything out. At a minimum, you should dedicate at least 20 hours of study time for the exam. However, more time is even better. You can never be too prepared!
