Do you need a two year or four year degree? Do you need a Bachelor's degree to pursue the career that appeals most to you? More and more students every year are obtaining their Bachelor's degrees. According to the NCES, the number of Bachelor's degrees awarded has increased 33 percent between 1989 and 2003. How much time do you have to devote to your schooling, how long can you work towards your goal? All these things ought to be considered, before you start something that you can't finish. What type of program suits my work style and my goals? You should have an idea of what the most ideal working environment is for you. Do you work better alone, or in a group? Do you learn visually, by looking at pictures, or by reading text on your own? Perhaps you learn best by listening to others speak. All these things must be considered. If your preferred work style is to work alone, on your own, you may want to consider getting a degree online. If your work style is best when you can listen to lectures, be sure to choose a program where hearing lectures will be part of the curriculum. You're the only person that can find the answer to the question, what type of program suits my work style and my goals -- and when you find the answer, you're already well on your way to reaching those goals.
